The Heart of Jutland is perfect for those who enjoy exploring the countryside by pedal power. With Denmark’s best cycling terrain, it is no wonder that Vejle has been selected as the starting point for the 3rd stage of the Tour de France 2022. With its rolling hillscapes, Vejle is true champion territory, so come and tread the tracks of cycling pros. If you prefer mountain biking, there are also plenty of daunting downs in the Heart of Jutland – also if you wish to run, hike or horse ride. No matter your favourite activity, some of Denmark’s most scenic nature invites you for a true challenge.
Sometimes you just need to dwell in nature with birdsong as your only companion. So, grab your fishing rod and enjoy the silence of the valley streams and the shores of the meandering inlets. If you are lucky, you will catch sea trout by the gleaming Little Belt estuary, or hook a salmon in one of the rippling creeks and brooks to the west. On less patient days, you can try your luck at one of the many Put & Take lakes.

Pack your backpack, unfold the map, and tuck your sleeping bag under your arm. Now, you are ready to sleep in a woodland shelter in the great outdoors where owls hoot and badgers scuffle by. Camp around the log fire and let the kids toast marshmallows over the crackling embers, all while you tell wild tales to the whistling of the wind in the treetops. Or perhaps you prefer to enjoy the silence and sunrise while sipping instant coffees by your campervan.
A landscape created for cycling with hills and valleys shaped by the Ice Age. Get pedalling and work up your energy. You can also race past townhouses, shorelines and through woodlands on a mountain bike. Or perhaps you prefer a Sunday outing at your own pace? Then bring your packed lunch and pick wildflowers for your basket along the way. Vejle welcomes all cycling enthusiasts to the Kingdom of Cycling.
Postnord
